The incident occurred in Bridgeport on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 10:15 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Greene Homes Housing Complex (Building 4).
According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police, officers responding to a shots fired report found the man lying in the hallway who appeared to have succumbed to fatal injuries.
Medics quickly arrived and confirmed the victim was dead, Gilleran said.
The Detective Bureau Homicide Squad has taken charge of the investigation, and detectives from the Forensic Identification Unit are assisting them.
The man's identity is not being released pending notification of family members.
"Multiple shots were fired during this incident, and the victim appears to have been targeted," Gilleran said.
